1. If I
am interested in a CTG system, how do I go about obtaining help?
CTG has a network of authorized dealers/integrators.
We can arrange to have a dealer in your area contact you or provide
you with dealer contacts that you may call. We will work hand in
hand with the dealer on your specific project to include design
and layout recommendations. Simply call or e-mail us. Phone: 941-922-2322,
e-mail: sales@ctgaudio.com
2. Can a single CTG system handle both audio and video
conferencing?
Yes, the CTG FS-200 has two pairs of inputs
and outputs to connect simultaneously to both a video codec and
to a telephone interface. The FS-400 and FS-800 have built in analog telephone interfaces
so you only need to plug in a telephone line and the included dialer for audio conferencing.
USB connection to a computer will allow voice over IP conferencing. A separate output can be
used for connecting to most video codec's. Levels for each are independently adjustable
with the included CTG software.
3.
Can I add a wireless presenter microphone to the system?
Any wireless microphone with a line level output
from its receiver can be connected to the CTG FS-200 control console.
A wireless microphone can be connected to the FS-400 and FS-800 control consoles.
4.
Can I record both sides of an audio or video conference?
The FS-200 has a record output for recording the conference on any recording device with a line level input.
The FS-400 and FS-800 come with recording software that will allow recording a conference to any computer hard drive through a USB connection. The recording can subsequently be archived to an optical (CD or DVD) disk or any tape recorder.
5.
How can local conference participants hear the return conference audio from distant participants?
The FS-200 contains its own built in amplifier to drive up to four 8 Ohm speakers. Return audio can be connected directly to it at line level. In smaller rooms return audio can be connected directly to the video monitor speakers.
The FS-400 and FS-800 do not include a speaker amplifier, and a separate amplifier must be used for driving the room speakers.
6.
Can simultaneous conferences be held in adjacent or dividable rooms?
CTG recommends against such practices unless the dividing insulated walls go from floor to ceiling slab, not just to the level of a drop ceiling. Adjacent rooms with a common air plenum will experience sound leaking from the amplified sound occourring in the adjacent room through the open space above the drop ceiling.
7.
How can I tell if the microphones are muted?
It is more convenient to use the mute function on the
video codec. You will see a notification
on the video screen that the outgoing audio is muted.
The included computer software for the FS-400 and FS-800 will indicate if the mute condition of the built in telephone interface, or the output to the video codec.
